East Central University’s volleyball team ended its season in a gripping GAC quarterfinals five-set loss (3-2) against Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Despite three players achieving double-digit kills and a strong double-double performance led by Emma Strickland with 22 kills and 10 digs, the No. 6 Tigers couldn’t hold off the No. 3 Bulldogs. First-year Head Coach Danielle Essix expressed pride in the team’s effort and is resolved to come back stronger after finishing 14-15, nearly making school history in wins.
