BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (BVM) – Illinois has historically produced some elite high school basketball talent on the girls side. Whether it was Yolanda Griffith back in the 1990s, or more recent players like Candace Parker and Jewell Loyd, the Prairie State has seen several of its stars go on to have successful college and pro careers.
As the 2023-24 girls high school basketball season begins, several players will look to follow in the footsteps of some of those past stars, and there should be no shortage of talent taking the court. That rings especially true in the state’s senior class which includes multiple Division I commits and some of the top girls high school basketball prospects in the entire country.
