North Allegheny tops Pittsburgh Central Catholic to win WPIAL Class 6A title
IRWIN, Pennsylvania – North Allegheny remained the kings of Class 6A in the WPIAL with a 44-41 win over Pittsburgh Central Catholic on Saturday at Norwin Knights Stadium. With North Allegheny trying to run out the clock and preserve a three-point lead, quarterback Logan Kushner broke off a 74-yard touchdown run with 2:18 remaining to give the Tigers a 10-point lead after Central Catholic had pulled to within three points on a 15-yard touchdown pass from Payton Wehner to Vernon Settles with 4:40 left.
