Tom Allen fired; 5 Indiana football head coach candidates
4. Antwaan Randle El
Randle El might be the biggest wildcard on this list. However, if Indiana is looking to change its culture and adapt to college football’s NIL era, he might be the best fit. Randle El is already beloved by Hoosiers fans from his time starring at quarterback in Bloomington a little over two decades ago and went on to win a Super Bowl title in the NFL as a wide receiver with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 44-year-old has coached in the league since joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2019 and currently serves as wide receivers coach for the Detroit Lions. The lack of experience makes Randle El a risky hire but the potential recruiting ability the Indiana alum could provide might be worth it.
