Tom Allen fired; 5 Indiana football head coach candidates
3. Jason Candle
Candle is likely to be a candidate for most Power 5 openings in the near future given the success Toledo has had in recent years. A former wide receiver at Division III Mount Union, the 44-year-old Candle got his coaching start at his alma mater in the mid-2000s. Shortly after, he joined Toledo as an assistant and was named the Rockets’ head coach in 2016. Toledo has gone 65-33 and has finished first in the Mid-American Conference West Division three times since Candle took over including this season in which the Rockets have gone 11-1 overall. He would provide an experienced option for the Hoosiers who has seen nothing but success during his time in college football.
