Keaveney & Whelpley of Volleyball Garner AVCA All-American Honors

Junior opposite hitter Erin Keaveney (Collegeville, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) and sophomore outside hitter Deanna Whelpley (Congers, N.Y./Immaculate Heart Academy) of The University of Scranton volleyball team both earned American Volleyball Coaches’ Association (AVCA) Honorable Mention All-American recognition as announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon. This comes on the heels of the duo earning AVCA All-Region V First Team accolades earlier this month. Keaveney and Whelpley become the first student-athletes since Eryn Boken in 2021 to garner All-American honors and the fourth and fifth total in program history.
