Wildcats downed by Tigers

Neosho traveled to Nevada on Thursday night for both teams’ basketball season opener and suffered a 75-59 loss at the hands of the Tigers. Nevada (1-0) was led in scoring by junior Jack Cheaney with 20 points. Cheaney, who is the school’s record holder for single-season rushing yards, just got out of football season and tallied 16 first-half points. The Tigers opened the game with a 25-12 lead after one quarter of play. They kept the momentum to hold a 46-26 advantage at intermission.
