Dante Moore transferring; 5 landing spots for freshman QB

The Spartans were close to landing the Detroit native the first time through the recruiting cycle. After firing Mel Tucker and hiring Jonathan Smith as head coach, Michigan State saw all three of its scholarship quarterbacks from the 2023 season enter the transfer portal, leaving the cupboards bare. The Spartans are in desperate need of help at the position and Moore would be a perfect fit.

For Moore, he would not only get to return to his home state, but he would also get the opportunity to potentially play against his former program once they join the Big Ten next season. That type of revenge could be appealing to the young player. However, Smith never offered Moore out of high school for reasons unknown so there may not be much of a relationship. Add the fact that several of Smith’s former quarterbacks at Oregon State have also entered the transfer portal and the Spartans may look elsewhere for help. But with the school’s proximity to Moore’s hometown and his previous interest in the program, they must at least be given respect as a possible destination for the signal caller.
