Flushing, N.Y.- Mateo Penfield of the Hunter College men’s indoor track and field team was named Track Athlete of the Week by the City University of New York Athletic Conference on Tuesday afternoon. At the Youree Spence-Garcia Invitational, Mateo Penafiel turned in the conference’s fastest time in the 3,000-meter race with a mark of 9:29.08, a top-100 time among NCAA Division III. Penafiel and the Hawks return to the track on Dec. 9 for the Seahawk Shootout Invitational hosted by Wagner College.
