Women’s Soccer Trio Earns Spots On D2CCA All-American Teams

For the first time, Ashland University’s women’s soccer team has a Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-American. In fact, it has three. As announced by the D2CCA on Wednesday (Dec. 6) afternoon, senior goalkeeper Mackenzie Simon is a first-team All-American, junior defender Julianna Williams is a second-team All-American, and junior midfielder Merrik Mihalek is a third-team All-American. Simon, who also earned first-team D2CCA All-Midwest Region and first-team All-Great Midwest Athletic Conference recognition, continues to lead NCAA Division II in goals-against average (0.22) and save percentage (.927), and was 13-0-1 with nine individual clean sheets in 2023.
