Patriot Trio named to All-Region Men’s Soccer Team

Three members of the Francis Marion University men’s soccer team have been selected to the 2023 United Soccer Coaches All-Region squad for the NCAA Division II’s Southeast Region. Earning second-team honors was junior forward Edorta Cabieces, while senior defender Sebastian Garcia and graduate student midfielder Philipp Worner both garnered third-team recognition. Cabieces, a native of Bilbao, Spain, led FMU in scoring with seven goals and four assists. He paced the Patriots with 43 shots, and three of his scores were match-winners, tying for the conference lead. He ranked third in points and fourth in goals scored among Conference Carolinas players.…
