COLUMBUS, Ohio (BVM) – The first name that comes to mind for most when thinking about high school basketball in Ohio is LeBron James. However, the state’s history of producing elite high school basketball talent runs much deeper than that. From guys like Jerry Lucas and John Havlicek in the 1950s, to more recent standouts such as Luke Kennard and CJ McCollum, there has never been a shortage of stars in the Buckeye State.
The 2023-24 high school basketball season in Ohio has gotten underway, and once again, an abundance of elite talent is taking the floor. That rings especially true within the state’s senior class which includes a host of Division I commits and several of the country’s top-100 prospects.
