Winona’s girls basketball team stayed unbeaten with a narrow win Thursday, beating Big 9 Conference foe Rochester Century 53-51. The Winhawks (3-0 overall, 2-0 conference) led by just two at halftime, 25-23, but built a lead of a few possessions late in the second half before holding off a late rally by the Panthers (2-2, 2-1). Senior MacKenzi Simmons and freshman Alivia Bell tied for the team lead, scoring 15 points apiece for Winona in the win.
