The LHSAA football state championships underway at the Caesars Superdome do not include a school from Orleans or Jefferson Parish for the first time since 1992, a streak that included 24 state appearances by John Curtis and 13 by Edna Karr. Curtis was the only school from either parish to make the state finals in seven of those seasons, the last such season in 2005. Karr was the only school from either parish in 1995.
