Schulte Wins MLS Cup with Columbus

Former Billiken Patrick Schulte was the starting goalkeeper for the Columbus Crew as they took home the 2023 MLS Cup with a 2-1 victory over LAFC on Saturday. The youngest starting goalkeeper ever in an MLS Cup final, Schulte stopped four shots against LAFC to help Columbus register its third MLS Cup in franchise history. In 2023, Schulte started 31 games between the posts for Columbus and totaled seven shutouts and 90 saves. He was fourth in MLS with 15 victories.
