PREP FOOTBALL: QC, area standouts earn Shrine Bowl invites

Tom Johnston Eleven players from the Quad-Cities and local conferences have been selected to play in the 2024 Illinois Football Coaches Association Shrine game. The 50th annual all-star contest is scheduled for June 15 at 11 a.m. at Illinois Wesleyan University’s Tucci Stadium in Bloomington. Eight of the locals scheduled to participate in the all-star game are on the Blue Squad. Matthew Kelley (QB, UTHS), Jamari McDonald (DL, Galesburg HS) and Chris Flachs (OL, Quincy HS) will be playing from Western Big 6 Conference schools.
