Spears named FCS Football Central All-American, Lovelace lands on freshmen squad

THIBODAUX, La. – Nicholls State University redshirt sophomore running back Jaylon Spears was named to the 2023 FCS Football Central All-American Team, earning third-team recognition as an all-purpose player while defensive lineman Rasheed Lovelace garnered all-American freshman honors. Spears was one of five players from the Southland to be named all-American, joined by UIW’s Brandon Porter (wide receiver) and Steven Parker (defensive lineman), McNeese linebacker Micah Davey and Southeastern tight end Bauer Sharpe.
