Porter and Parker Named to Phil Steele FCS All-American Team; Torres and Carter Earn Freshman All American Team Status

SAN ANTONIO – The 2023 Phil Steele FCS All-American Team was announced on Friday with Brandon Porter appearing on the second team and Steven Parker receiving third team honors The 2023 Freshman All-American Team featured quarterback Richard Torres and defensive lineman Chase Carter. The two freshmen received national recognition after finishing an impressive first year as a Cardinal. Torres stepped up huge for the Cardinals at quarterback, most notably when he threw for 161 yards and three touchdowns in the second half against McNeese, leading the way for 28 unanswered points, earning him FCS national freshman of the week.
