7. Caleb Embeya, F, St. Maria Goretti

Embeya was a standout for the 28-9 Gaels last season, averaging 13.9 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.1 blocks and leading St. Maria Goretti to a second-place finish in the Baltimore Catholic League. For his efforts, Embeya became the first Gael ever named the BCL Defensive Player of the Year and also earned first-team All-BCL honors. He also averaged 6.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists over 17 games for Team Melo.

The 6-foot-9 forward is considered a top player in the Old Line State, ranking No. 8 in Maryland by PrepHoops. Embeya held a few D-I offers from Mount St. Mary’s, Seaton Hall and UNCG, but committed and signed with Towson on Nov. 9.
