High School Sports: A rematch for the Adirondack United; Glens Falls cruises in girls basketball

GLENS FALLS — In a rematch of last year’s state girls ice hockey championship, the Adirondack United exacted a bit of revenge in a 4-1 victory Friday over Clinton. The United (4-0) jumped out to a 3-0 first-period lead behind goals by Emily Macaulay, Maddie Macaulay and Gianna Marcantonio. Tekla Fine-Lease finished off the scoring on a two-on-one break with Aubrey Lozier recording the assist. Bayley Duffy and Lillian Willis each had two assists for Adirondack, and Ava Reynolds finished with 27 saves in goal. Clinton had defeated the United 2-1 in last year’s state final.
