Thumb Area Legion fights cancer, snaps losing streak

SANDUSKY — Last week, the Thumb Area Legion battled Grand Blanc in a “Hockey Fights Cancer” game, thanks to a partnership between the National Hockey League, the National Hockey League Players’ Association, and the American Cancer Society. The cancer awareness game celebrated cancer survivors and raised funds for the American Cancer Society’s mission to save lives from cancer. Last Monday night’s contest raised $3,636 for the American Cancer Society. Former Legion player and team captain, Brandon Thompson, did the ceremonial puck drop, in memory of Rosie Ordish.
