Boys basketball: Verona drops shootout to Homestead

The junior trio of Drew Murphy, Tre Poteat and Cam Williams combined to score 69 points, but the Verona boys basketball team couldn’t comeback and lost a nonconference game to Homestead 93-86 on Thursday, Dec. 28, at Homestead High School. The game was part of the John Chekouras Classic. With the loss, Verona dropped to 5-5 overall. Murphy scored a team-high 28 points and made 8 of 10 free throws.
