Jayden Maiava enters transfer portal; 5 landing spots for QB

Arizona State struggled mightily in 2023, going just 3-9. The Sun Devils had four different quarterbacks take the field during the season led by senior signal caller Trenton Bourguet who threw for just shy of 1,500 passing yards and only one touchdown. With a lot of inexperience behind him, Kenny Dillingham will likely look to upgrade his quarterback room for 2024. Arizona State has already added one transfer quarterback, former Michigan State backup Sam Leavitt, but getting a player like Maiava would be a win. Playing at Arizona State would likely provide an opportunity for instant playing time for Maiava while he could ultimately be the quarterback that leads the program back to prominence under Dillingham. Maiava’s former head coach at UNLV, Marcus Arroyo, was also recently hired as ASU’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
