Quarterback Alex Erby named 2023 National Offensive Player of the Year in high school football

It went down to the wire, but SBLive readers have voted Steelton-Highspire quarterback Alex Erby as the 2023 National Offensive Player of the Year in high school football. Erby voters battled it out with the camp supporting Paradise Honors (Arizona) quarterback Gage Baker before coming out on top to close out 2023. Erby won with 32,973 votes (53.62%), edging out Baker’s 27,342 votes (44.46%). The all-time leading passer in Pennsylvania high school history, Erby closed his career with 13,567 passing yards and 175 touchdowns.
