Arthur Smith fired; 5 Atlanta Falcons head coach candidates
ATLANTA (BVM) – The Atlanta Falcons fired head coach Arthur Smith late Sunday night following the team’s 48-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints earlier in the day. The Falcons finished the season 7-10 for the third straight year under Smith who recorded a 21-30 with Atlanta.
The Falcons also announced that the search for a new head coach will begin “immediately” and will be led by owner Arthur Blank and CEO Rich McKay with general manager Terry Fontenot giving “input.” Given the Falcons are loaded with young talent such as cornerback AJ Terrell, running back Bijan Robinson, safety Jessie Bates, tight end Kyle Pitts and wide receiver Drake London, the opening should be one of the most sought after by potential candidates.
With all this in mind, here are five head coach candidates for Atlanta.
