Notebook: Locals are part of women’s hockey history
A former Lakeville North High School player was part of history last weekend when the Professional Women’s Hockey League debuted in Minnesota. Maggie Flaherty played defense for the Minnesota franchise, which defeated Montreal 3-0 on Jan. 6 at Xcel Energy Center. Announced attendance was 13,316, a record for a professional women’s game, breaking the previous record of 8,318 set in a PWHL game four days earlier.
