College basketball’s top 10 freshmen so far in 2023-24 season
10. Jackson Shelstad, G, Oregon
A knee injury forced Shelstad to miss the first four games of the Ducks’ season which left him behind on building chemistry with the team. He’s now worked his way into the starting lineup, averaging 16.1 points and 3.2 assists in nine games with the first unit. Oregon is at the top of the Pac-12 standings and Shelstad’s 43.5% 3-point shooting has been a big catalyst. Even as an undersized guard, Shelstad has proven he belongs among the top freshmen in the country.
