Aniya Johnson Garners GSC Freshman of the Week Honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Gulf South Conference announced its weekly women’s track & field award winners on Wednesday, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville was represented by Aniya Johnson as GSC Freshman of the Week. This is Johnson’s first career weekly honor from the GSC. A native of Pinson, Alabama, Johnson finished fifth overall in the high jump at 1.65 meters, which is the highest mark achieved by a GSC athlete so far in the 2023-24 season. Johnson and the rest of the Chargers look ahead to competing at the Vanderbilt Indoor Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
