Top 10 college football QBs returning for 2024 season
6. Jalen Milroe
One person who could stand in the way of Ole Miss’ hopes is Milroe. The Alabama sophomore had a strong first season as a starter, finishing ranked fifth in passing efficiency, No. 12 in points responsible for, No. 15 in points responsible for per game, tying for No. 31 in passing touchdowns and No. 38 in total yards while the Crimson Tide finished No. 23 in the country in scoring.
There were some flaws, however. Milroe ranked outside the top 50 in passing yards per game and No. 42 in passing yards on the year while Alabama finished No. 56 in total offense. While these things aren’t all on Milroe, it does show he still has more to learn as a passer. However, with new head coach Kalen DeBoer and offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb heading to Tuscaloosa, Milroe’s passing should improve immensely next year.
