Normand steps down as Baker head coach

Steve Normand, Baker’s head football coach the past five seasons and interim coach for another, informed his team on Friday he is retiring as the Hornets’ leader. Normand is retiring after 26 years in the Alabama school system and has said he will be moving to Mississippi. He spent 20 years on the Baker coaching staff in a variety of roles. Normand was named interim head coach in 2018 when Danny Smith was relieved of the position following an 0-3 start. Normand was 5-2 the rest of the way.
