Elk Mound outlasts Durand-Arkansaw, moves to 17-0
Unbeaten Elk Mound girls basketball was given a scare by Dunn-St. Croix foe Durand-Arkansaw on Tuesday. With just over eight minutes to go, an Addison Auth 3-pointer gave the Panthers a 22-21 lead, their first of the game. After holding the Panthers to just four points in the first half, the dam had finally broken and the Mounders were behind. But Elk Mound didn’t blink. The Mounders embarked on a 12-3 run over the next six minutes, highlighted by a Lydia Levra 3-pointer that answered the only Panthers bucket of the stretch and walked away with a 38-28 victory.
