SC High School League gives first look at new regions

The S.C. High School League released its proposed region assignments for high school athletics for the next two years on Wednesday, the final step in the reclassification and realignment process. Schools will have an opportunity to appeal their region placement in the coming weeks. The Charleston area will include six regions, two in Class AAAAA and one each in AAAA, AAA, AA and A. In the most significant moves, James Island and Lucy Beckham move into AAAAA, but are in separate regions.
