Meet Southern Arizona Pickleball Association ambassador Chuck Borozinski
SAHUARITA, Ariz. — There are so many people that give back to our community in pickleball, but I’d like to focus on one person in particular who has been instrumental in teaching and mentoring me. His name is Chuck Borozinski. He is an ambassador for Southern Arizona Pickleball Association and also a rep for Gamma.
I believe it was back in 2014, he and a few of his friends started offering clinics at the tennis courts that are behind Anza Trail School. He brought portable nets, paddles and balls and it was free for anyone that wanted to learn. He held these for several weekends.

He went on to hold clinics for those that wanted to continue their pickleball journey on another local basketball court where he painted lines on them and had nets donated from a local HOA. He held one clinic a week to drill and taught us how to dink, punch, lob and other techniques. Then we would play games on different days, so that he could give us feedback on our newly acquired skills.

Whenever someone felt comfortable with their game, that individual left and went on to play elsewhere, while Chuck continued with the group as it evolved with different people. He has given beginner clinics through Sahuarita Parks and Rec, an after-school program at Anza, and has given clinics in Tucson, Nogales, and as far away as Douglas…to mention a few!
Chuck has even helped other places paint lines on their local neighborhood tennis courts, basketball courts, and at some of our local parks. His love for pickleball and passion to teach others has been so instrumental in my personal desire to give back to our community, as well teach others.
I would just like to recognize and thank Chuck for his dedication and love for pickleball and for giving back to his community!
