10 NFL assistant coaches who could be head coaches in 2025
4. Thomas Brown
Brown, like Waldron, comes from the McVay coaching tree and just finished his first season as offensive coordinator with the Panthers. It was a tumultuous season at best for Brown, but he is still well-respected in the league as shown by his pair of offensive coordinator interviews and his head coach interview with the Titans.
Brown will have to prove that his season in Carolina was a fluke and show that he is capable of running an organization. If Brown lands elsewhere and succeeds as a playcaller, he will likely be high on the candidates list next offseason.
