Knights Women’s Swimming Team Takes Second Place at Skyline Conference Championship

The Knights women's swimming team took second place at the Skyline Conference Championship meet. The Knights men's swimming team placed fourth overall at the Skyline Conference Championship meet. Meghan Wurster and Grace MacHugh earned Second Team All-Conference Skyline Honors for their performances. Meghan Wurster finished second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:23.12. Grace MacHugh finished second in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 5:16.56. Meghan Wurster also finished third in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:21.09, and fourth in both the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:07.44 and the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:36.06. Grace MacHugh also finished third in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:27.33, fourth in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:11.37, and sixth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:48.02. Kitty Masayda finished third in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:39.63. Kitty Masayda also finished fourth in both the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:12.68 and the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 5:23.40, and fifth in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:30.23. Cayla Nicholas finished fifth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:00.43, and seventh in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 27.10. Emily Gursky finished seventh in three individual events: the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:09.92, the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:33.15, and the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:23.60. Stefanie Sommer finished eighth in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:25.84 and the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:24.10. Rhiannon Mulkerrins finished seventh in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 14:09.71. The Knights women's team earned third place in three relays: the 200-yard medley, the 400-yard medley, and the 400-yard freestyle. Jackson Lerner, Tyler Williams, and Michael D'Ambrosio collectively earned 77 points for the men's team, placing them fourth overall. Michael D'Ambrosio finished fourth in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:25.30. Jackson Lerner finished fifth in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:26.13. Tyler Williams finished fifth in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:28.97, sixth in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:32.95, and seventh in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 5:11.86. The Knights will compete at the Metropolitan Championship meet at Rutgers University on Feb 16, 17, and 18.
