Cal Poly football has signed 13 future student-athletes, including six defensive players and seven offensive players, during the early signing period. The class comprises two defensive linemen, a linebacker, three defensive backs, four wide receivers, a tight end, a running back, and an offensive tackle.

By the Numbers
  • Jake Vorhees, a defensive end from San Marcos High School, recorded 11 sacks as a senior and has a family legacy at Cal Poly.
  • Trevor Newkirk, a 6'7" offensive tackle, helped lead San Juan Hills HS to an 11-2 record.
  • JT Houston, a defensive end from Warren High School, notched 20 sacks and 19 tackles for loss in his senior season.
  • Aiden Hall, a 6-4 wide receiver from Etiwanda High School, chose Cal Poly over offers from other schools.
  • Reese Leonard, a competitive wide receiver from Mira Costa High School, was a three-time All-Bay League honoree.
State of Play
  • The early signing period for Cal Poly football's 13 new student-athletes occurred from Dec. 20 until Dec. 22.
  • Another signing period will open on Feb. 7 and last until the beginning of April.
