Falcons drop road test at Pioneers, 72-70

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The UW-River Falls women’s basketball team fell 72-70 Saturday afternoon at UW-Platteville. After a tight first period, UWRF closed out the first half with an 11-4 run in the final three minutes to claim a 38-32 lead at halftime. UWP outscored the Falcons 19-15 in the third quarter to trim the UWRF lead to 53-51 heading into the final 10 minutes. Minutes into the fourth quarter, a Zoey Buchan triple extended the Falcons lead to five, and UWRF led until under two minutes left in regulation.
