Top 10 California HS baseball players in Class of 2024
10. Logan de Groot, OF, Santa Margarita
One of the biggest risers in California’s senior class over the past several months has been de Groot. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound prospect is a multi-skilled player who has nice range in the outfield and can also pitch. A big reason for the UCLA commit’s ascension into a potential early-round MLB draft pick is a strong summer at the plate seen at the Perfect Game National Showcase and the Area Code Games. That followed a strong 2023 season at Santa Margarita where de Groot helped the Eagles to a regional championship and was Co-MVP of the Trinity League. In the last two seasons, de Groot has led Santa Margarita in stolen bases while hitting .322 over the entirety of his high school career. The Eagles are poised for another strong season led by de Groot and fellow Division I commits Cade Townsend and Jake Lavin.
