Top 10 NCAA softball players entering the 2024 season
9. Erin Coffel, SS, Kentucky
Kentucky has seen a lot of talented players come through its program in recent years and one of the best has been Coffel. The senior shortstop enters her fourth season as one of the most feared hitters in all of college softball after posting a .440 batting average last year with 19 home runs, 55 RBIs, 60 runs scored and 64 walks. Coffel had the second-best slugging percentage in the country at .976 and led the nation by a wide margin in on-base percentage at .629. That followed a 20-home run season in 2022 for the All-American and first-team All-SEC performer, and a 16-home run campaign as just a freshman in 2021. Coffel’s power can be expected to be on full display again in 2024 as she looks to take the Wildcats further in the SEC.
