Women’s basketball drops road contest at No. 11/23 Washington and Lee

LEXINGTON, Va. – Averett University women’s basketball fell on the road to No. 11/23 Washington and Lee University on Wednesday night 109-54. Averett (4-18, 2-13 ODAC) held nationally-ranked Washington and Lee (20-2, 14-1 ODAC) to a close 19-17 through the first 10 minutes of play. The Cougars tied things up at 19 all at the start of the second quarter from junior Jaa Brown’s free-throws. The Generals erupted on an 20-2 run before entering halftime with a 52-30 lead.
