The General Clinton Canoe Regatta Hall of Fame has announced the six-person Class of 2024, to be inducted on Saturday, May 25 during the 62nd General Clinton Regatta in Bainbridge, New York. All six inductees have connections to New York State, with impressive accomplishments in paddling and contributions to the Regatta.

  • Bruce Codington: Competed in 28 70-mile races, winning three and achieving numerous second and third-place finishes.
  • Lori Shaver Roseboom Michaels: Finished 14 70-mile races, with victories in various categories such as mixed amateur, mixed pro, women’s pro, and women’s amateur.
  • Bob Silvernail: Competed in 15 Regatta competitions, including eight in the pro division, and has raced in the U.S., Canada, and Thailand.
  • William Whiting: Ranks in the top 20 among all paddlers with 38 70-mile finishes, highlighted by a win in stock aluminum in 2001.
  • Greg Davie: Part of the Regatta coverage team at WCDO Radio since 1987, co-anchoring live radio coverage for over 35 years and retiring as Hall of Fame chairman later this year.
  • Ron Jeffrey: Among other contributions, he came up with the idea of the 'over/under' short race, which evolved into the popular ‘Generation Gap’ races, bringing renewed interest in canoeing among younger paddlers.
