Top 10 Florida high school baseball players in Class of 2024
10. Devin Fitz-Gerald, SS, Stoneman Douglas
Fitz-Gerald starts this list after a stellar junior season for the Eagles last spring. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound middle infielder was one of the most well-rounded public school players in the state hitting .417 with 33 hits, 32 RBIs, six home runs, four doubles and three triples for the undefeated, Florida High School Athletic Association Class 7A state champion Stoneman Douglas squad. For his efforts, Fitz-Gerald was named Florida Athletic Coaches Association first-team all-state as well as Florida first-team all-state by Prep Baseball Report.
Fitz-Gerald is well-respected by national scouts as well. He is ranked as the No. 10 player in the state’s 2024 class by Perfect Game and ninth by Prep Baseball Report. The switch-hitting shortstop signed with the North Carolina State Wolfpack on Nov. 8.
2024 MIF @devfitz3 of @SDEagleBaseball starts the bottom of the 5th off by driving this one deep into the RF corner, showing his above average speed to get around the base paths for a triple. Confident approach from both sides of the plate. @NCStateBaseball commit. @FHSAA pic.twitter.com/EKbnmu70fk
