Newberry College will retire the jersey numbers of former women's basketball players Barbara Langford Davis '79 and Dr. Peggy Barnes Winder '86 for the first time at Eleazer Arena during the halftime of the women's basketball game against the Highland Cavaliers of UVA Wise. This event will be accompanied by a reception in the Eleazer Conference room during the Men's Basketball game against UVA Wise. Both players are being honored for their outstanding contributions on and off the court, representing the best of Newberry College Athletics as student-athletes and community leaders.

  • Barbara Langford Davis: Scored 1,000 points in her career, with the highest single-game score of 43 points. A three-time team MVP, SCAIA All-State honoree, and inducted into the Newberry College Hall of Fame in 1999.
