UMD Tennis Opens NSIC Play with Victory and Setback
The University of Minnesota Duluth tennis team opened up Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play over the weekend earning a 4-3 win against Bemidji State University Sunday morning after suffering a 6-1 setback to the University of Minnesota Crookston Saturday afternoon. Both matches were played in Grand Forks, N.D. at the Choice Fitness complex. On Sunday against the Beavers, the Bulldogs got singles wins from senior Shay Callaway (6-4, 6-1), senior Abby Johnson (6-4, 7-6), sophomore Lilly Nelson (no score available) and sophomore Brynne Folden (6-4, 7-6).
