Texas Southern University Men’s Track & Field Dominates SWAC Indoor Championship with 11th Title Win and Stellar Performances by Tyree Newman and Jose Gonzalez

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Texas Southern University men’s track & field team dominated the 2024 indoor championship from start to finish en route to claiming its 11th SWAC indoor title in school history. The Tigers set the tone on day one as they dominated the field events. Tyree Newman claimed a pair of titles in the heptathlon as he set personal bests while winning the long jump (21-11.75) and pole vault (14-1.25).
