The UAlbany field hockey team has placed 11 student-athletes on the 2023 NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad, with four earning NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction. The program honors collegiate student-athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, with Scholars of Distinction achieving a GPA of 3.9 or higher. Junior Lara Behn and senior transfer Chiara Calicchia received their third and second awards, respectively. Freshmen Emma Staron and Axelle Werbrouck earned Scholar of Distinction honors in their first year. Other members also earned consecutive recognitions, contributing to a total of 997 student-athletes from 80 Division I institutions on the National Academic Squad. The team awaits the announcement of two more Division I academic awards.
