Drew Shoji Leads Upland to CIF Division 5 Soccer Title Match with Stellar Performances

The Inland girls athlete of the week: Name: Drew Shoji School: Upland Sports: Soccer Year: Junior Noteworthy: Shoji had two strong performances last week to help the Highlanders advanced to the CIF Southern Section’s Division 5 championship match, the program’s first finals appearance in 30 years. In the quarterfinals against Yorba Linda, Shoji tied the match in the 78th minute and later added the winning penalty kick in the shootout.
