Lufkin Panthers to Compete in District 9-5A DI; Angleton Moves to District 11-5A DI in Texas High School Football

The Lufkin Panthers' football team is headed south. That was the word they had hoped for when the University Interscholastic League's District Assignment Appeals Committee approved Lufkin's request on realignment. The Panthers will now head from District 7-5A DI to 9-5A DI for the 2024-26 seasons. Lufkin will compete in a seven-team district with Baytown Sterling, Beaumont United, Beaumont West Brook, Galveston Ball, Barbers Hill and Port Arthur Memorial.
