Kirk Cousins’ free agency: 5 landing spots for veteran QB
Pittsburgh Steelers
Similar to other teams on this list, the Steelers have a lot of pieces in place but are perhaps just a quarterback away from becoming a true contender. Playing in a division that features Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson and Deshaun Watson, Pittsburgh likely needs to address the position sooner rather than later. Remarkably, Mike Tomlin’s guys still went 10-7 and reached the postseason despite the quarterback play they had last season. Kenny Pickett doesn’t appear to be the answer, particularly after failing to earn his starting job back over Mason Rudolph late in the year. Meanwhile, Rudolph was solid down the stretch, but his viability as a long-term NFL starter is fair to question. With a strong defense and nice weapons across the offense, bringing in someone like Cousins could be what the Steelers need to make a run in the AFC.
