5 X-factors for Tennessee Volunteers baseball in 2024
Blake Burke
Burke is one of the more recognizable names on the Volunteers’ roster after a freshman season in which he hit .326 with 14 home runs in 95 at-bats. Now the 6-foot-3, 236-pound first baseman out of Brentwood, California, is in his junior campaign and he will be eligible for the 2024 amateur draft. The slugging numbers will always be there for Burke, but his on-base percentage dropped from .467 to .369 as a sophomore. Tennessee already has a deep lineup, but if Burke can somewhat mirror his freshman season, it could be one of the best starting nines in the SEC.
First homer of the year for Blake Burke gives Tennessee some insurance.
Vols lead 8-2 with two innings to go.
